This post is part of a series that began with this entry.

North of Ben Burton Park, in the woods, are trails.  Stone walls and other artificial structures, presumably remnants of the old dam (dating to 1895), which no longer exists, are impossible to miss.  Parts of them have become overgrown, but they are obvious.  As one stands on these trails and looks across the Middle Oconee River one can see nice houses.  My best guess is that some of the stone structures that existed on the other side of the river are no more.  A few of them remain, however.  Consider the photograph, O reader.
